"Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living in the fear of the Lord." (Acts 9:31)
My wife Jenny and I were called back to Scotland and to Falkirk Baptist Church a few years ago, and since that time we have very much enjoyed living here and being part of this fellowship which covers a fairly wide area. I believe that in the days to come we will see God move by His Spirit in power, and that Jesus Christ will be glorified in this nation. Prayer is the key to revival and in the meantime my prayer and desire for the church is that we become like the one described above in Acts 9 v 31 :
1) Enjoying peace : Peace with God, and with others, brings joy. The peace of God brings wholeness in body, soul and spirit.
2) Being strengthened and encouraged by the Holy Spirit : Openness to God's Spirit, His power, fruit and gifts, is vital.
3) Growing in numbers : The Lord Jesus will build His church and so with His help we reach out to others with God's love, encouraging all people to be born again, to know Christ as Saviour, Lord and friend, growing spiritually as His disciples.
4) Living in the fear of the Lord : This isn't about negative legalism but a new life of faith and obedience to God's word.
If you live in the Falkirk area and are looking for a church to make your home, we'd love to have you come and join us for Sunday worship at 10:30am or 6:30pm. We have as part of our fellowship people of various age ranges including singles, families, children and youth. Our core group structure with housegroups and other activities allows for the participation of as many folk as possible so that they are able to exercise their God-given gifts.
Our worship services take place in our refurbished sanctuary, and are relaxed with a praise band and the opportunity to chat over tea and coffee at the end. We want everyone who comes through our doors to feel welcome, to encounter God personally, and enjoy a real sense of the Love and Presence of Jesus.
